Bonjour! I am so happy to have found your blog "Paris for Free". I'm also a Pinay - born in Manila then moved to the US when I was 15. I now live in San Francisco, but will be moving to Paris for school. Matanda na ako to others, but young at heart - 34 years old. Basically, I've graduated with a Media/Communications degree but because of how terrible the economy was - I've decided to go back to school and pursue what I've been passionate about all my life...art. I'm taking up a graphic designer/illustrator course at Ecole d'art Maryse Eloy this October and am really prepping up for the move there. It'll probably take me 3 to 4 years to finish, etc. but I'm trying to figure out a way on how to survive in Paris...one of the most expensive cities in the world!

I'm working on my visa and a place to rent, but I gotta think about other major things to support myself. I'm just at intermediate level French and also getting TEFL certified so I could teach english. I'm also an artist - I'm very much inspired by Philippine culture (multi-culture) so I've made a couple of greeting cards with Philippine inspired art (a lot of Pasko theme, Filipina theme, Mariang Makiling).

Anyways, just wanted to let you know that your blog has been helpful to me - and I will keep on checking it out for more info. I've read a lot of books on American expat experiences in Paris...but I wanted something coming from a Filipino. I know that Parisians are oh so "friendly" lol...but is it even possible to befriend a few fellow artists? What do they think of Filipinos?

Merci et bonne journee!

I am happy that you find this blog useful! Actually I haven't been updating much lately coz I've been busy pouring my heart in my start-up.

But if you have some questions, I'd be more than happy to answer them via e-mail. I would also love to meet up with you once you're here.

If you can message me through my personal website (You can find it the profile section)so we can have a more personal chat..

Will wait for your message...=)
